How verification works

Every pro on Vetta is licensed in Ontario. Before anyone appears, a person on our team looks them up on their college’s public register. We don’t take a pro’s word for it.

What we check

  1. Their name

We find the pro on the register by registration number and name, and make sure it’s the same person, including any former names.

  2. Their status

They’re registered and allowed to practise right now.

  3. Their class or title

The title on their profile is the one on the register, like RP (Qualifying), psychological associate or registered specialist.

  4. Any conditions

We note any terms, conditions or limitations on their practice, and any current referral to discipline.

  5. Where they practise

Their practice is in the city they told us, or they see clients online in Ontario.

  6. Their photo and bio

The photo is a real, recent headshot of the pro. Bios can’t include testimonials, claims like “best” or “top”, or promised outcomes, and they use the pro’s correct title.

We record what the register showed, the date we checked and who checked.

Where we check

Each profession has its own college, and each college keeps a public register. You can search it too.

We check again every year

We re-check every pro on their college’s register once a year, and whenever someone reports a concern.

If something looks wrong

If a pro’s details don’t match the register, or something on a profile concerns you, email hello@onvetta.com. We’ll check the register again and act on what we find.

If you have a concern about a pro’s care or conduct, you can also contact their college directly.

What verification doesn’t cover

Verification checks the public register on the date shown. It doesn’t rate a pro’s care.

We don’t check government ID yet, and we don’t run background checks.
